Get The Right Snowboard Gear
So you're thinking about grabbing that board and surfing down that next
big weave, woops wrong sport I mean surfing down that mountain. Well unlike
surfing on the water where you only require some swimwear and a board, snowboarding
requires a little bit more thought into your gear. Because If you don't
dress warm you'll freeze your touché!
A. Keep Warm
There is nothing more peaceful and exhilarating than coming down the mountain
on your snowboard. Nothing will change the mood faster than if you become wet
and soggy. That's why it's so important to visit your local sports
store and get gear that is comfortable and will keep you warm and cozy. Waterproofing
is the key to staying warm. That's right from head to toe, right down
to your socks. If you purchase waterproof attire you'll be good for hours
on the slopes.
We'll break down the type of clothing you'll need
B. Choosing The Right Board
Before you can take to the hills you'll either need to rent or buy a
snowboard. It seems the first thing to catch a persons eye is those way cool
graphics they place on the boards. We'll don't get caught in the
trap of judging a board by it's cover. The graphics might be sweat but
they are not going to make the difference between a great ride and an okay ride.
So when tempted to grab a board just because it looks real good, think again.
If the board graphics you love are available in a board your size then that's
great. It's your lucky day! If they aren't then you'll have
to find another board that grabs your fancy.
Board Brands
In our modern society of yuppies we've becomes brand followers. We as
consumers are very trained to purchase by brand so one of the first questions
you'll ask is what brands best. Sorry guys and gals I can't tell
you which is best. There are many good snowboarding brands out there. My suggestion
to you is rather than hunting down a specific brand why not search for features
you want and need and then find a reputable brand that offers those features.
Because no matter how “good” the brand is, if your board is missing
features you want, you're not going to be happy with the brand you chose.
Sales people are there to help you choose a good board but remember they can
be paid on commission by a sponsored brand and so they may push you towards
that brand. Why not do your own research before you start board shopping. That
way you'll be an educated consumer and no one will pull the board over
your eyes!
