3 Great Ideas About Today’s Snowboard Brands

Snowboarding has become such a wildly popular sport over that last decade that there are now many different snowboard brands to choose from. If you’re fairly new to the sport, then just about any company has something to offer you, but if you’re a more advanced rider, then finding what you’re looking for can take a little more effort. There are not only the obvious categories of men’s, women’s, or children’s and freestyle, freeride, or race, but the market has expanded to include things such as boards designed specifically for goofy or regular footed riders, tall, short, even big-footed riders, so knowing which brands offer what types of boards can be a huge help in pointing you in the right direction.

1. The most popular brand, not only in the United States, but around the world, is Burton. They are considered to carry a more “high end” board, which is going to cost you more then most, and while some people feel that you’re paying for nothing more then a name, many of the riders who have chosen to go with this particular snowboard brand, will tell you otherwise. Burton carries just about every style you can imagine, but if price is an issue, the there’s plenty of other brands to consider.

2. After Burton, there are a number of other popular snowboard brands out there that make really good quality products that aren’t as expensive, but are still just as reliable. Some of these include, Ride, Lib Tech, and Salomon. Depending on what you’ll be using your board for and how much you’re willing to spend, one of these brands might be right of you. With today’s technology, last season’s "next big thing" is all of the sudden today's value-priced choice.

3. Option, Endeavor, and Gnu are three other snowboard brands that offer very reasonably priced snowboards under $350, but don’t be fooled by their price tag. These companies use the same cutting edge technology as everyone else, but have found a way to offer it to you for much less. Even though some of their boards have been specifically designed for riding in the park, they are more then capable of handling whatever comes their way.

Be sure to keep in mind that most snowboard brands offer an entry level board somewhere in the neighborhood of about $200 and up, a mid-range around $350, and their top-of-the-line stuff closer to $500, but if you do your homework, you should be able to find a board that’s perfect for you and your individual needs and style at a price that won’t put you in the poor house. If you, like so many before you, end up addicted to this amazing sport, then you can always upgrade your board as your skill level and intensity improves. With so many companies out there dedicated to creating the best possible products, you’re sure to find a board that’s not only perfect for you, but made by a brand name that you can trust.
