Rome Snowboards – Which Ones For You?

Sometimes a company get’s their design ideas from company riders and other times they use ideas passed on from external snowboard shops who have heard their riders request things. Rome Snowboards gets their ideas from everywhere. Even the emails that arrive daily. So which one is for you and what do you want in a snowboard?

Of course lot of the ideas come from in-house but you’d be surprised at what comes from the outside world. Some good, some bad, and some amazing.

Rome has a terrific line of boards that use SDS technologies and are very unique. Everything they design is about fun in the snow. What type of board are you ready for? There are three main categories you need to address to help you choose the right board.

1. Three Styles
There are three basic styles Freeride, Freestyle, and Race and there is about the same number of users in each category. Most manufactures design all three types of board. It’s a good idea to understand your boarding style before you go shopping for a board so you get the right one.

2. How Much
You can get a level entry board starting at around $200. Beginner boards are heavier and are designed for boarders that are less aggressive.

For the mid range boarder you can expect to spent around $350 and up. These boards will be a little lighter and are geared towards the occasional rider that has skills above the beginner level but not yet advanced.

For the advanced rider who feels the need for both speed and amazing tricks there is the top of the line boards which start around $400. These boards are lighter, fancier, and have extra features that the advanced boarder demands.

3. It’s All About The Size
You need to get the right size board for your riding style. This includes both the weight of the board and the height. On average a board should land around your mouth when you stand it up.

However if you race or do deep powder you will need a longer board and if you do tricks you will need a shorter board.

If you are heavy for your height you can go a just a bit longer in length. On the other hand if you are a little light for your height then go a bit shorter with your board.

The width of your board is also very important. Women and men with small feet need a narrower board while guys with big feet are going to need a wider board.

So many things to consider. The good news is if you rent a board the first while you’ll be able to figure out what board is best for you and of course staff is always ready to help.

You can buy Rome snowboards online and often save a bundle. Plus you get access to every style, shape, and size where as most local stores only bring in the most popular styles. Get ready to shop online.
