Take Flow Snowboarding Equipment To The Mountain

Snowboarding has become a popular sport especially with the younger generation who is looking for a challenge and a thrill and what a great way to get it out on the mountain playing in the powder and Flow snowboarding equipment should be right there with you.

New to boarding? This run down will give you a good idea of what you need to invest in.

1. Board
A beginners board has a beveled edge with a bit of flexibility with an hour glass shape. This shape makes it easier to turn and the beveled edge makes it easier to avoid catching the edge.

2. Boots
Your boot moves with your foot and at the same time your boot is attached to your board which you then control with your feet. Your boot needs to fit snuggly from heel to toe. You should be able to rotate your foot with the boot without slippage.

Go for boots with foam fitting. The foam is in the inside of the boot and when your heel comes down it rests on the foam. You get the optimum comfort and control over your board.

3. Helmet
Make sure you have excellent visibility with the helmet you choose. You do not want your peripheral vision blocked or you just might miss that tree off to the side. You also don’t want your hearing completely blocked as you want to hear other skiers and surrounding sounds.

4. Lace Up Bindings Properly
You need to pull hard on your laces to make sure they are tightened properly. When you have hooked the laces to the top hook bring them back through the bottom hooks once more.

5. Outerwear
Your clothing needs to be non restrictive, breathable, and water resistant. Your jacket needs to overlap your pants so snow doesn’t get into your waist.

You should wear only one pair of thick socks. Get waterproof gloves that come up over the wrists on your jacket and try to get a pair that’s not so bulky. These days they are readily available. Choose goggles with shatterproof lenses. You’ll also want a hat that covers your ears completely and a scarf.

When you are new to boarding it can be difficult deciding what board and boots are right for you. It always pays to rent the first few times and then try different equipment until you find the right match for you.
