Where To Buy A Cheap Snowboard

You gave snowboarding a try with your friends and after only one day you’re hooked. And I do mean you’ve got it bad. So now you are in the market for some cheap snowboard equipment and you’re wondering where to buy it.

Let’s face it – it’s a fun sport but it’s not necessarily cheap and many who fall for it are on a restricted budget. Renting your equipment is always an option especially if you are only riding occasionally. But if you are going to be a regular rider you need to buy and you need to buy at the right price.

Buying cheap isn’t as difficult as you might think. There is in fact several ways you can save a bundle. Let’s have a look at some of those ways.

1. Buy used – Check your local paper, the papers for the resort areas near you, and the online electronic papers. You’ll be surprised at just what’s available.

2. Go Auction – If you have a local auction check it out and don’t forget about sites like eBay. You can get some great buys with just a bit of sleuthing.

3. Discontinued – Online sites offer a wide range of sites and some of those move nothing but discontinued and overstocks. You can save a bundle and get new stylish gear. Generally the difference between last years model and this years is cosmetic and perhaps a little bit of change in graphics and color.

4. Sale – Watch your local papers for sales that are occurring. Some of these can save you a bundle and there is nothing wrong with the stuff.

5. Promotions – You’ve all seen them. They generally offer one or two really great items in limited quantities to lure you into the store and hopefully upsell you. It’s a practice that works well for the retailer but can work well for you too if you are patient and don’t get greedy.

6. Online – There are many sites offering full lines of snowboarding gear and the prices are usually far better than what you can find on a local retail site. The reason that this can happen is often a result of lower overhead costs and a much more competitive environment.

The other benefit to online is the selection. Your local stores will often bring in one or two styles but online you have every style made available to you. Now that’s nice!

However you decide to save money on your gear what’s really important is to remember that you will need to make sure that your boots fit correctly and that you have chosen the correct snowboard for the type of boarding you do.

There are two types of boots hard and soft and three main types of boards – do your research so you understand the difference between each.

Whatever you do don’t overpay. It’s easy to get into that rut where you want it so bad that you pay the extra price when if you had just waited a bit you’ll find the reduced price at quite a heavy discount.

The first place to start looking for a cheap snowboard is online. So what are you waiting for?
