686 Snowboard Outerwear
The sport of snowboarding is relatively new but for many snowboard equipment providers they have been there since the beginning. Although 686 didn’t come onto the scenes until somewhat later when they did they brought to the market a full line of 686 snowboard outerwear. It was the early part of the 1980’s when Michael West grabbed a skateboard and fell in love with the sport. He spent the next few years boarding the streets of LA. That was until 1985 when his best friend tempted him into giving snowboarding a try. Since Akira was one of those guys that loved a challenge and enjoyed a good laugh he figured what the heck after all he was up for a new challenge. The idea of taking the sport that he had been enjoying for years on concrete up to the mountains and onto the snow intrigued him. It would be same but different. He wondered would it be more difficult? more fun? more interesting? Akira loved it and as a result he went looking for work on the mountain. He worked there for several years while he finished university. But even though he now held a degree snowboarding had gotten deep into his blood and it was very important to him. So being the smart man he was Akira decided what cold be smarter than starting a business in something you already love? And so in November of 1992 it all began with 686. The 686 began providing the snowboarding community with some great looking outerwear that was also innovative and extremely functional. Many of the clothing was LA urban inspired and much of it was also designed by local artists. There lines became so popular so quickly that it wasn’t long before others were imitating their lines. They soon began having their products trademarked. For example the SMARTY line was their removable liners and their ACE line was the line done by their artists. This company continued to grow in both product demand and product lines. Today they offer their own full lines. So whether you are looking for Smarty, ACE, Gaper, Mannual, or Vitals they can help. Of course that’s just a few of their lines. The outerwear you take to the slopes is just as important as the board you choose or the boots you buy. Your clothing has to be comfortable, stylish, and most important keep you dry and warm. It needs to have enough flexibility so that you can move through the air but not so much as to allow cold air in. It wasn’t difficult for this company to gain so much ground within the industry. Because Akira was a boarder himself he fully understood exactly what a boarder demanded from their outerwear. They wanted flexible, warm, comfortable, stylish, affordable outerwear. It was that simple. 686 snowboard outerwear could do exactly that and it continues to do so today which is why their outerwear is so sought after today. Are you ready for a brand new experience in outerwear? Then try 686.
